Solo Exhibit in Sitges, Spain
I was fortunate to have a solo exhibit of my art quilts while in Sitges, Spain at the Spanish Patchwork Festival. The exhibit took place in a municipal building a short walk from the building where I was teaching. It was so crowded at times, my husband, Steve, and I would sneak out for a glass of wine.

Lady of Spain I Adore You!
I owe my fabulous trip to Spain to one fine Lady of Spain, Rosario Casanovas. Rosario is a shop owner in Girona, Spain and president of the Asociacion Espanola de Patchwork. But many of you know her as a quilt instructor that often teaches here in the US. She is a sweetheart and lots of fun! Thank you Rosario for the invitation to Spain!

Here are some other ladies at dinner. It's about 11:00 and we're waiting for the first course. This time schedule fit it nicely with my east bound jet lag. For me it's only 5 in the afternoon! Welcome to Sitges!
I have just returned from Spain where I taught 2 classes for the wonderful Asociacion Espanola de Patchwork in the lovely coastal city of Sitges. Much to my delight, I discovered the Spanish quiltmakers to be lively and fun, matching their sunny climate.
Here you see the sign at the entrance to my special exhibit of 9 large quilts. This charming old building was packed everyday by viewers from the Spanish Quilt Association as well as other quiltmakers from around Europe. The swirl of languages and activity was fun but exhausting!

Inside Yellow
Years ago, when I was just a lass, I purchased a used book on the art work of Pierre Bonnard. His work was imbued with one of my favorite colors, yellow. And he depicted one of my favorite topics, interior scenes.
I became a Bonnard fan and my "yellow period" ensued. (See "Round Table" above.)
So imagine my delight when I recently attended the Bonnard exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC! The exhibit contains his paintings, watercolors, sketches, and personal sketchbooks. It is like discovering an art treasure in the Big Apple.

Cat and Flower
While in Virginia, teaching at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, I discovered that cats are not nearly as popular as dogs.
This scientific survey was made while teaching my new class, Bad Dog! Cute Cats! Over 75% of the students requested dog patterns. The remainder used the cat patterns I provided.
Thus proving that a dog owner's life is much more enthralling than that of a cat owner's.
