How to Tuesday: Want to See a Fusing Miracle?

Silicone Release Paper (the paper that comes with fusible web) has a special coating that allows you to fuse and release and fuse and release fused fabric. Its versatility  makes a confirmed fuser rejoice!

But did you know that Release Paper can help you preform miracles? The miracle is that it is perfect for pattern transfer. If you have a pattern or specific shape that you want to cut out of fabric use these simple steps.
How to Transfer a Shape to a Fused Fabric Using Release Paper: Start by transferring fusible web to your fabric (I use Wonder Under #805). After the fabric cools remove the release paper in one sheet. Save the paper!

Draw or trace the shape you want to cut out of fabric on  the release paper. Use a black Sharpie marker or a lead pencil.
Now place the ink or drawn side of the release paper onto the glue or fused side of the fabric. That's ink to glue. Iron for 5 seconds. Let it cool.  Now remove the paper. The image transfers to the glue! Now cut it out just inside that black line.
The miracle of this pattern transfer system is that there is no mirror imaging. What you see is what you get! And that's why they call me St. Laura of Elgin.

That is a great miracle "tip" thanks.

I keep wondering about that "cardboard eye" that shows in my blog reader but is always "page not found."
