Today on Free on Fridays I'm giving away the lint of your dreams! Yes, this is all genuine hand-dyed dryer lint from my recent bout of dyeing.
Now what you use this lint for is up to you. Artists use all sorts of weird materials (And frankly it concerns me that people have uses for lint but we all know someone with strange ideas.) So if you leave a comment on my blog today you may be the lucky lint winner!
Anyone know what actor said this in what movie, "Yuck! It tastes like lint!" ?

I decided I wanted to be strange today. If choosen I would use the lint with my needle felting machine and make some hot hot cards to commemorate this hot weather. I would than send one to you.

First, I want to be perfectly clear....while I'm leaving a comment I do NOT want the lint!!! That said, I remember back when I was a Girl Scout leader we would make "fire starters" using dryer lint and the old cardboardy egg cartons. We'd smush the lint into the egg bumps, pour melted wax over top each bump and VOILA! We would tear each 'bump' off, light the cardboardy edge and put it into our firepit as a starter! So someone could make fancy schmancy firestarters with these lovely colors.....just not me...

Well, Laura, I have had the needle felting attachment for my Bernina, and have yet to take it out of the box. I think it's high time I did some felting on an art quilt!
I think it would make nice material for felting and art pieces, but I have enough things I need to use up, so I will pass. Today I am trying an antique pin keep I saw, making it all with wool, so will see how it turns out.

I think adding some to a mixed media collage would add some great texture, my lint at home is always gray :( Or fluffing it up and layering it in a tall glass cylindar jar would be very cool.

Dryer lint is PERFECT for making paper. I've done it with kids and this "lint" that you have would be an art teacher's dream. Perhaps you have an art teacher close by who would love this "found material" for an art project? Yes, I am an art teacher, but now retired...ANd then, you could also cut it up and sew with it, like appliques?
I googles it and couldn't find what movie it was from. But doesn't it sound like a line from a kid's movie where the stepmom cooks osmething inedible for dinner? Anyway, dryer lint is awesome and I would love some!
Well, I don't do these things - but as I was passing by and stopped at your blog I wondered what the picture was. Great blog stopper! I suppose if I were to win this I would incorporate it in to one of my little things. I try to create things that inspire my students. It would have to be something quilty of course but can you imagine the creativity it would generate. Something unique. This kind of challenge could be very interesting. Cool.
My crazy friend & I use dryer lint in some of our art quilts, but your lint has a lot more color than ours! Yes, our other friends think we are really weird, especially when we save dog hair after brushing our dogs.

I love lint and so does my felting machine. I save my washing dryer lint because some day I will try dying all that I have.. but I would love your colors!!

While I really don't want your dryer lint, I have seen pictures made from such. Now, as I clean out my dryer filter, I am more aware of the color of the lint, more than ever. I wear alot of purple & reds, so I have some really neat colors.

I would love to have the dryer lint! Rather than cranial constipation, my brain is on explosive overdrive in how I'll use it. Imagine my husband's surprise when his cotton balls are colored... Just kidding. But, I would use it in my art quilts... a downy addition to a bird's nest in my next quilt. I would incorporate it with the little threads that had twined around the wheels of my sewing chair.
