Free on Friday: Giving Away the Masters!

Have you seen Masters: Art Quilts, Vol. 2: Major Works by Leading Artists from Lark Publishing? This 400+ page book, curated by Martha Sielman, includes the work of 40 contemporary quilt artists from around the world. And I am so pleased to be included in this volume!
Blue Ladder
Martha introduces each artist in a short, well written essay describing their art work and giving brief biographical information. Colorful photos of 10 - 12 pieces are accompanied by statements by the artists regarding their inspiration. Or, in my case, profound statements about my art. Hah!

In submitting my art quilts for the book, I was asked to include new and old work that best represented my career as an artist. From there Martha requested information on 10 pieces and I did my best to describe thie origins.
Ironic Conclusions
My favorite part of being part of this publication is that the book acts as a way to document the history of the art quilt movement. The first Masters volume and future volumes record a wonderful art form.

Please leave a comment today and you may be the lucky winner of a copy of Masters: Art Quilts, Vol. 2 donated by the generous folks at Lark Publishing.

Would love to read about you (and, yeah, those other artists too...) - put my name in the hat please, thank you.

The first art quilt I made had flying irons - it was a challenge for the Jax Quiltfest - technically awful - but got me going..... Ironic Conclusions, indeed.
