What Science and Art Have in Common

Tulip Queen of the Night by Emily Parson
Years ago the Chicago School of Fusing faculty had an exhibit at the Fermilab Gallery near Batavia, IL. My friend, Emily Parson, engaged a resident particle physicist in conversation. The man explained the mission of Fermilab: to smash atoms and study the minute particles that result. After his lengthy explanation Emily said: "Oh, so it's"

If you'd like to learn more about science and see some quilts too, please stop in and visit our show Stitched Together: Art and Science at the Fermilab Gallery. Work by members of the Illinois and Wisconsin region of SAQA and my local guild, PAQA, will be on display through January 20, 2012. The opening is this Friday,  Nov. 18, 5-7 PM. Please stop in a see me at the opening!
