Filming with Nancy Zieman and a Doughnut

In the wee hours of the morning last Saturday, Frieda and I traveled to Madison WI. What, you ask, could get me out of bed that early in the morning? We traveled to Madison to film a pledge drive with Nancy Zieman for Wisconsin Public Television.
Me with Frieda and Nancy Zieman
We were invited to appear live during breaks between the airing of our show, Art Quilts- Fusible Collage Workshop on Sewing with Nancy. The fundraising breaks are pretty fast and furious. You have to talk fast and look cute all at the same time. Not an easy task!
People that joined Wisconsin Public Television during our promo time received a copy of our new DVD and a companion book to go with it called..... Art Quilts- Fusible Collage Workshop.  (Frieda's project is the little barn quilt on the cover and mine is the basket of flowers.) All in all it was a great experience despite the early hour. And I got a free doughnut!

I love watching Nancy's shows, hope we get this one too. She has so many different types of projects, it is great to learn more about sewing and learn new things.

Both little quilts are darling. I have watched Nancy from the beginning. While most kids watched Sat morning cartoons, my girls watch all the shows on our PBS station. From sewing, woodwork to painting, they had lots of exposure to being creative.

Did you get to say "Call the number on your screen and make a pledge to this station?" I've just done 15 hours of that pledge stuff for our local Tacoma PBS station! So much smiling!
