We are in full swing here at the Artfabrik dye studio. (Also known as the family laundry room.) My hand-dyed fabric and thread inventories must be replenished before leaving on my next teaching gig to sunny California!
But in my enthusiasm for dyeing it seems I've made a little error. Too much Size 8 Thread has been dyed in the Cafe au Lait colorway. Let's just chalk this error up to a little too much......caffeine.
My mistake is your gain! Please leave a comment today and a lucky caffeine lover will receive a skein of Cafe au Lait in the Size 8 colorway.

Looks like a great "mistake"!
That is too funny!! Too much cafe au lait!! I say it's funny because I welcome you into my day with my own cup of coffee. Up north, coffee becomes very important as the great preparation to stepping outside in to brisk winds and snowy piles of icy cold. Thanks for sharing your wonderful sense of humor every day!
One goal for this year is to make a crazy quilt. I think it would be a perfect spot for your crazy dyeing. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love that color...great chance for a super giveaway!
Oh please iclude me in the chance to win too! LOVE the color! Cafe certainly has an important part in our lives here....I too am from the frozen North!

happy accidents are the best sometimes!
Laura, thank you for the opportunity to try out a new medium to my quilting. It's a lovely color. Can't help but love anything coffee colored. :) Have just discovered your book Colorful Quilts and am loving all the inspiration. And had to see if you had a blog. BONUS, my lucky day. And a giveaway to boot. Have just started adding embroidery to my quilting and am loving it! Happy New Year! Judith1005
I can always use some size 8 pearl; thank you for sharing!

I have just found your blog after "blog hopping". I would love to be entered into your draw if I am not too late. It looks a wonderful colour. Hugs Angela

I love your mistake!!
love it! hope to win it!
thanks, Laura!
Cafe au lait? - that's what I'm having right now! WOuld love some size 8 in this color - lovely! Have a great day in the dying studio.
Lovely color, and I'd love to begin a collection.
I'm a neutral kind of gal... would love to win a skein that resulted from your caffeinated zeal.
Love it! Thanks for the thread/needle visual in the previous post as well. I am just getting (back) into the handwork and enjoy your posts daily.
I am having my coffee and catching up on one of my favorite quilt sites. Thanks for inspiring me.
What fun!
I prefer my coffee without the lait actually!!!
Aaahhhhh.....that would be a nice addition to my cache. No such thing as too much in my book!
I do not understand the words "too much Cafe au Lait" so you can fill up my cup with a skein
Sounds like a good mistake to me. I'm waiting to have enough snow so I can do some snow dyeing, but until then I would love to sew with your thread.
Is there really such a thing as too much caffeine? Love this color too - a deviation from the normal brights that you use so brilliantly!
Cuppa Joe, Java, Espresso, Latte, Frappacchino... it all works for me. LOL!

Oh what a beautiful colour! Is there such a thing as too much caffeine?
Ah, Your loss is someones gain - I hope it is me!
I'm drinking coffe as I type! Would some new thread in such a beautiful color.
I will have some please!
Ah, the prospect of a little "lift" with zero caffeine.
this wasn't really a mistake, just an opportunity of over abundance.
Well, if it had been purple, would it be due to over-indulgence of grape soda?
Put my name in the hat
Are we ever lucky for your mistake. I love that color!
ooo! Yummy! But as of last week, I am a former caffeine lover... took myself off coffee for awhile!
Can't resist hand-dyed thread. Thanks for drinking all that coffee.
I don't like coffee but I love your thread.

Love that colour. Caffeine - what a great reason for a giveaway! Thanks!
I never have the problem of dyeing too much. I have a problem of using the lovely colours I make. Cafe au lait!!! is a fantastic colour -
I would enjoy some of your mishap too. Thanks for the opportunity.
There can never be too much coffee! My fingers are crossed that your mistake works out for me! :D
Thanks for the opportunity,
Linda
I really enjoyed your needle and thread post. I'm planning on doing one of your small quilts one day and that thread would be a sure way to get me going.
There is no such thing as too much caffeine!
Yep, I love the color and I love the thread. Using some blue(s) at this moment. Heck, the thread color might drive the quilt instead of the other way around.
Beautiful - I'm astounded that have the chance to win thread with the name of my favorite beverage! Thanks for the surprise giveaway. Hope your next dye vat is the color you want...
Oh yummy thread............here's so hoping.....lol
Cafe Au Lait

Whoosie..... but really, can you have too much caffeine?
Gotta love the caffeine. Especially if it helps me win some of your beautiful thread. Thankyou Laura!!
I love to use pearl cotton, and a cafe au lait freebie would be great!
Pick me! PLEASE!
Coffee and coffee colored thread. What could be a better combo?
Loving those over caffeinated colors.
The perfect color for tree trunks and horses!
Beautiful colour, especially as I have just received your books and need to begin embroidering some little quilts! It would help so much!
