Ever find a "surprise" in your sewing studio? Something that appears out of nowhere like a long lost relative in need of cash? Lucky for you this surprise is not my cousin Vinny but a skein of size 8 thread.
Discovered in a quiet corner of my workshop, this thread skein is a super sized 100 yards! It was dyed before the recession (when thread skeins were bigger) and is vintage 1995. This very large skein of thread is looking for good home (just like my cousin Vinny). If you leave a comment on the blog today, it could be yours! And so can Vinny!

What grat colors. Have a great week-end Laura
if vinny can hold a paintbrush in his hand, send him my way, Miss Laura - getting ready to start on the kitchen.
Happy Friday, dear Lady
Love the thread, not so sure about Vinny though.
I am sure that thread has my name on it. Not sure about Vinny...
It does look cat-like. Vinny's very funny. I like funny. :)

I would really love to have that thread! What a fabulous find! Last night I finally finished the hand embroidery and machine quilting on the 4 landscapes wallhanging I made at your workshop with the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild in Wellsboro Pa last June!! Now to put backing on today so I can take to show & share at another guild meeting tonight!
I would love to win your lost friend to add to my threads. I'll take your Vinny if you take MY Vinny!
LOL
The thread looks lovely. I grew up in a neighborhood full of guys named Vinny, but none of them were my cousin.
I would love to have the skein live with me and you can have your cousin Vinny.
Does Vinny take the trash out? Thanks for a chance at the thread!
I got a kit with thicker pearl cotton and I really liked using it, now I am over my fear of using those types of threads for embellishing, they really are nice to use.

Hey ill take Vinny Not sure what to do with thread though?

LOL It is pretty though!
beautiful thread! Oh, and I LOVE MY COUSIN VINNY!! That movie busts me up!! From the lips of 'Mona Lisa' Oh yeah, you blend. hehe
LOL - thanks for a morning chuckle! Lovely thread but I think I'll keep Vinny on the screen!
I would love to win the thread, but I really don't need another mouth to feed.
Great name - Snake Skin! We had a lot of those in our yard this past summer - all friendly of course!
That very pretty thread would love to find its way into my work. Mary Ann
I'd love to give the thread a good home! not so sure about Vinny!
great colors. I would love to have it. Janet, in Friday Harbor Wa

Wowee! What a beautiful surprise to find! If I win this "surprise" I'll hide it where I know I'll find it the next day and it can be a surprise all over again!
Wow, would love to get this yarn!
Edith
Nice find! Would love to see it in my mailbox if I win!
Thank you, Joanna
would love the thread but not too sure about cuz vinny!
Can we just skip Vinny? I would love the thread, however.
Your posts always bring a smile to my face. A great way to start the morning! Would love to win this thread..
Thanks!
Vinny could deliver the skein!
Thanks for the great laugh! I would absolutely love the thread, as I know your palette. I, too, remember the good old days when fabric was thick and luxurious and skeins of anything were generous. Sigh. Thanks for the chance to win something great!!
The skein would be wonderful to get in the mail....Vinny, not so much!
I don't have a cousin Vinny....but I loved the movie!
This hank is GORGEOUS! and in colors I love to use...I'd love to have it shift homes...but I promise it would be worked up.Won't let this pretty puppy hide under a bushel basket...as if I had bushel baskets in my sewing room. ;)
OMG It's MY color way! Really. Put my name in the hat. It's gorgeous. Interestingly, I'm using one of your threads at this very moment...okay, I'm actually typing..but you know what I mean. One of several in my collection, garnered on our annual Extravaganza when Vivika "sits" your trunk show of incredible dyed pieces. I always feel very satisfied when I use my purchases instead of just fondling them...(the thread gets tangly after a while...not a really perfect candidate for fondling)
Ice Cream containers were bigger then too. That skein is great, I know I would put it to good use, and unlike ice cream, it wouldn't make me fat.
A stray skein unearthed ? ..........lol >>>>> I would be very happy to give it a home it here! <<<<<
I'm sew hoping it will be coming to my house to visit. Would love to try out such a lovely skein of thread. Am loving your new book. Trying out some of the techniques for a mini for a friend. Thanks for the opportunity to participate. :)
I would love to have the skein of thread, but only Vinny if he is a handyman who will actually work!!!
I'd love to win the thread, Laura, but could you please leave Cousin Vinny at home???
Diane
I used to know Vinny when I was a "yout"......remember that movie?
Thx for a chance to win.
Been quietly following your blog and just couldn't stand it anymore. Is Vinny house trained? Just have to get me one of those. BTW I'd like the thread too! And let's not even talk about the wonderful art that I keep seeing you produce. Of course Vinny had nothing to do with it, right?
Not much chance of my actually winning that beautiful thread, but I will post a comment anyway!
Such a huge bundle of thread...I can see it would go a long way...not so sure about your cousin Vinney though.
Laura - such beautiful colours - I can think of a number of ways I could use it - if I'm lucky enough to win, of course!
Love that thread---I would have such fun with it....
Oh, so cool!!
I wouldn't mind being surprised to find that in my mailbox.
