Stitching on wool or felt is such a treat! The needle and
thread glide through the fabric like a duchess through a drawing room. (Been watching too much
Downton Abbey.) Here you see a sampler stitched by the lovely Donna using a basic leaf shape as her subject matter. Each leaf measures about 2 3/4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide.
Donna used wool fabrics hand-woven by her sister that she then felted. The shapes are made with hand-dyed wools, silk, velvet, and cotton fabrics. Size 8
Artfabrik pearl cotton threads are used in some of the embroidery. Size 11 seed beads, rick rack, ribbon, and embroidery floss add more embellishment.

hehe, like a duchess through a drawing room, couldn't agree more, lovely to work with. But no more show to watch while stitching. :(
You will love Sue! She's a wonderful person....
Beautiful work, I also love the embellishments that I see on Sue's blog.

Lady Susan here -- I actually found Downton Abby Season 2 and SNATCHED it up quick! Lady Laura -- love your thread! You were mentioned on Quilting Arts yesterday morning! Someone was using your fabric as a resting place in a table runner!
Keep up the good work!
Laura--We look forward to having you and Sue here on Madeline Island!
