Do you have this problem? Like a dog in a squirrel factory, I am easily distracted by colorful shapes. While clearing off my fusing table (a table covered with a large Teflon sheet) I notice these 3 shapes above. Everything comes to a standstill. What are they? What can they become?
My good intentions of cleaning up are forgotten in the thrill of discovery. Serendipity has brought the shapes together. My job is to play with the shapes and make sense of them. Finding other scraps of fused fabric, the composition begins.
An hour later this little scene is complete. Imagine the hand stitchery that will add movement and texture and detail to the piece! And as I gaze fondly at my new little quilt I realize this fact: I know nothing about sailing.

Ha ha... I know nothing about sailing either. So I can enjoy this piece without worrying if it is "correct"
sailing? who has time for sailing?
besides, I get seasick!
ohm right...what distracts me? your blog...Laura! that's what!
but I love it, I do!
Cute, Looks like you got stuck on a hill!
Your piece reminds me that I have the special cutter heads, I should use that in pieces to add some fun and dimension.

This is a fun distraction! What distracts me? YOUR distractions... I enjoy reading the blog and seeing those scraps take on new life!
Sail should be on other side of mast ....just saying. The way it is now , you would be sailing in reverse. lol
Good to know Marilyn! It's too late for this boat however, it and Elvis have left the harbor!

Hey Laura, Jessica from FaveQuilts here. Personally, I'm most distracted by designing things to fit my needs. If I need a special outfit to wear to a specific event or a quilt to give as a gift to a specific person, it's always in the back of my mind until I'm hit with inspiration. Then I have to start writing it down ASAP!
I rarely design when I don't have something specific to design for. I'm a very practical crafter!
I'm easily distracted by shiny things in pretty colors.
As a matter of fact, I'm distracted by your book and the lovely free pattern I got as a subscriber to your newsletter. In 2 weeks I'm taking a class from Alicia Merrett and she said to bring inspiring visual material with. I'm bringing your book.
Hi Laura, your book arrived yesterday. I can't wait to try - I've got a windmill in my mind... Thank you once more for your generous giveaway :)
Everything/Anything!! I'm totally distractable. When I first saw your three scraps, I saw a bird.
