To make up the decorative elements for the background of our charming little bird, we go to a favorite tool of mine, the Accuquilt Baby Go die cutter. To make the crescent shape above I first cut out the large circular flower shape using the Kay's Bouquet die . That shape is cut in half to make the crescent shape.
Next the crescent is placed in the corner of the border felt. (Note that the border felt has been trimmed with a scallop blade in the rotary cutter.) Add a blue dot to the center. The dot is also cut from the Kay's Bouquet die.
| Our little bird measures about 9" wide by 7" high. |

I think it looks great. I do like the black border, which I suspect is only in the photo. So you could add a black border to give it some real POP!
I like the finish of the scallops around the piece. No matter what you do with it now, there will be some other kind of "surround" won't there? So that itself would finish it up.
Love how you mounted it on the background and added the corner decorations.

I just love the bird and can't wait to start this felting project myself. To me it looks complete, although I agree with a previous comment about the black background looking good. But I'm just a novice and whatever you make or do always looks brilliant.
My dear it looks GORGEOUS just the way it is!!
Woo Hoo ~ love this little birdie!
The little cut outs work for that blue background ~ everything is just perfect and wonderful! CUTE!
